Indonesia Offers Strategic Programs at Paris IFTM Top Resa 2018

THE Indonesian Tourism Ministry will offer a number of strategic programs at the IFTM Top Resa 2018 tourism expo to be held in Paris on September 25-28, 2018.

According to  Tourism Ministry’s Deputy for Marketing Nia Niscaya said the strategic programs to be offered by Indonesia in the exhibition which will be held at the Porte de Versailles included a bundling ticket with a domestic transportation facility provided in cooperation with airlines and wholesalers.

“IFTM Top Resa is one of the world`s biggest tourism bourses in France which provides opportunities for tourism industry (travel, trade, hotelier and airlines) to develop new business relations in the tourism sector,” she said

Niscaya also mentioned that Indonesia which becomes a country of honor in the event involved 21 tourism industries from Jakarta, Semarang, Bali and Flores. It also involves the tourism service offices of Gorontalo Province, West Sumba District and an airlines partner from Singapore, namely Singapore Airlines.

“It is expected that the election of Indonesia as a Country of Honor in the biggest French tourism exhibition will increase brand awareness and media exposure in the promotion of the Indonesian tourism, through the dissemination of information on Indonesia tourism destinations,” said Niscaya.

She also said in 2016, a total of 250,921 foreign tourists from France visited Indonesia. This number rose 19.79 percent from the previous year. While in 2017, more French tourists visited Indonesia. Reported data showed that a number of 268,989 French tourists came to Indonesia, up 7.20 percent from 2016.

“For 2018 it is targeted that the number of foreign tourists from France to Indonesia would amount to 290,000 tourists. Up to June 2018, French tourist arrivals in Indonesia amounted to 113.996, an increase of 4.02 percent compared to the same month in 2017,” she added.

The European region has continued to show positive trends over the past few years. Britain, France, Germany, the Netherlands and Russia are the top five European markets for Indonesia. [photo special]
