MICE TOURISM FACILITIES IN LABUAN BAJO WILL CONTINUE TO INCREASE

MEETING, Incentive, Conference & Exhibition (MICE) tourism facilities in the super premium tourism destination Labuan Bajo, East Nusa Tenggara, continue to grow as more infrastructure projects are built.

President Joko Widodo inaugurated one of the hotel amenities used as a venue for the Meeting, Incentive, Convention and Exhibition (MICE) event in Labuan Bajo, East Nusa Tenggara.

The President when inaugurating the Inaya Bay Hotel and Marina Area, Labuan Bajo, recently said that he is very pleased that Labuan Bajo currently has a location to hold events to support the tourism industry there.

“I am very happy to see how good this Inaya Bay Hotel is. I do not want to say long, hopefully this hotel can provide full support for tourism in Labuan Bajo,” Jokowi said.

Previously, the Head of State also said during a meeting with the Indonesian Cabinet Ministers to discuss the development of the Labuan Bajo tourist destination, the development of the Labuan Bajo tourist destination with a premium premium segment, there were several star hotels in Labuan Bajo with various existing facilities.

“But it is still not enough, but we also see that more hotels are needed for Labuan Bajo,” he said.

Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Wishnutama Kusubandio in his report to President Joko Widodo said that the security was a joint venture between PT Indonesia Ferry Property and PT Pembangunan Perumahan to build infrastructure in the Labuan Bajo Marina Area.

“Right now we are in Inaya Bay Komodo, this hotel which has 147 rooms in 4 star classrooms is equipped with a multifunction hall with a capacity of 1,000 people. This is the first multifunction hall in Labuan Bajo that can accommodate large numbers of people and can be a venue for various MICE events,” Wishnutama said.

The Minister of Tourism also underlined, the construction of supporting facilities in Labuan Bajo which is being intensively carried out, must be in tune with the development of Human Resources there. Local people should not only be spectators, but must become actors and accept the positive impact of tourism development in their area.

“Human resources must continue to improve their expertise, as well as their competence. That way, these human resources can be involved in the development of the Labuan Bajo area. As well as providing training for local communities to work on local products, both in terms of packaging, design, price, and others,” Wishnutama concluded. [traveltext.id]
