CONSTRUCTING TERMINAL 4, AP II IS SEEKING FUNDING OF IDR12 TRILLION

PT Angkasa Pura II is designing the construction of terminal 4 of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (Soetta). The construction of terminal 4 is a realization of the request of President Joko Widodo.

According to the President Director of PT Angkasa Pura II, Muhammad Awaluddin explained, the total cost needed for the project reached IDR12 trillion.

“We estimate it will cost around IDR11 trillion to IDR12 trillion, and indeed we also do not assume to make self investment or self financing, of course there is a pattern that we will try to break through with new business models,” he explained.

Awaluddin said, later there will be three 3 phases for determining the design of this terminal 4. First, conceptual design. Second, basic design. Third is the detailed engineering design and finally the construction process.

Now, AP II is currently conducting a study regarding which scenario is most optimal. The design process for terminal 4 building is expected to be completed later this year and start construction at the beginning of next year.

“We are currently running two scenarios. One design preparation was for the terminal building and a scenario for the design of the financing preparation, so we prepared it in parallel. One side for design planning and construction is another for financing, so in the same time for 12 months everything can be finished,” he stated.

AP II is still examining opportunities to see which model or structure is the optimal combination of investment and strategic partnership.

“We are still reviewing the investment funds, we have not been able to decide on all opportunities for which model or structure is the most optimal. The combination of investment can then be financing or partnership strategy,” Awaluddin continued.

Actually AP II has more ambitions to work on terminal 4 by cooperating with the private sector. This state-owned company opens opportunity for private parties who want to join in working on the terminal 4 project together.

“We do not know who the investors are. We will be very open to working with strategic partners who are interested in investing there,” said Awaluddin. [antaranews/photo special]
