ANTARA BALI HOLDS ONLINE EXHIBITION ‘SEEING THE ISLAND OF THE GODS’

PHOTO Stringer at LKBN Antara Bali named Nyoman Hendra Adhi Wibowo held an online photo exhibition entitled “Seeing the Island of the Gods”, by displaying 55 photos containing elements of acculturation, humorous, humanist, expression, ironic, exotic and reality.

“The purpose of the exhibition is to entertain and look back at any event or moment of life that has happened in Bali in 2014-2019, indeed in Bali it is famous for its cultural arts and tourism which is a world attraction but behind all of that there is another side of Bali also in terms of life, environment and disaster, for example, tourists ask for alms, rubbish on the beach or river, over the function of rice fields,” said Nyoman Hendra Adhi Wibowo in Bali, Denpasar.

He said through this photo exhibition the public could see the changes in Bali from 2014-2019, with performances through visuals that were humanist, humorous, ironic, exotic and reality or in Bali it was often termed Rwa Bhineda.

Hendra noted, although the implementation was online, he also invited and wanted to motivate photographers or artists in Bali to continue working and show creativity during the COVID-19 outbreak.

“Because the photo exhibition through social media will continue until the time limit is not determined or follow the development of COVID-19 conditions until it subsides so that it can continue to be seen by the public,” he said.

This online-based solo exhibition, can be accessed by the entire community through social media Instagram @see_pulau_dewata and can by visiting the website through viewingpulaudewata.blogspot.com, and the LoveIndonesian.com community.

“It is planned that this exhibition will continue, so for photos of Bali’s condition in 2020, but this time it will be grouped with all photojournalists in Bali, possibly in 2021 so that the events and moments in 2020 will be collected in full and can later be selected for display,” he said.

Some of the works exhibited were photographs that had received awards including, Champion II Canon Photo Marathon Indonesia 2015, Champion I Photo Competition of the Ministry of Education and Culture 2017, Champion III MURI Photo Competition 2017, Champion Hope I Photo Contest Ministry of Cooperatives and UMKM 2017, Champion II Indonesia Photo Pewarta Award (APFI) 2017 Art & Entertainment Category and Champion III Indonesia Photo Pewarta Award (APFI) 2019 News News Category.

Nyoman Hendra Adi Wibowo, born in 1991, began his career as a photojournalist in the local media of Nusa Bali from 2014 to 2016, then continued his career at Denpost in 2016 to 2018. Furthermore, since 2018, Hendra chose to become a photo stringer in the national media LKBN Antara to date.
