BALI IS ENSURED TO BE STILL A TOURIST ATTRACTION AFTER COVID-19 PANDEMIC

BALI Island is expected to remain a favorite destination for tourists to visit after the COVID-19 pandemic, including tourists from France who are one of the potential countries contributing tourists to Indonesia.

According to Deputy of Marketing for Tourism and Creative Economy, Nia Niscaya in a webinar with France’s TA / TO, Tuesday (12/5) said, Bali will still be a favorite of tourists because in addition to being one of the destinations that always has a strong attraction for tourists, Bali it is also one of the provinces in Indonesia which has a controlled distribution of COVID-19.

“Although Bali is the center of tourism in Indonesia with many tourists visiting the island, but Bali is not the center of the COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia,” Nia Niscaya said.

Nia explained, COVID-19 positive cases in Bali to date there were 300 cases with 195 people recovered and 4 people died. This is because the prevention programs carried out by the government, both the central and regional governments, run well.

“This is because the Balinese can be disciplined to remain at home and obey the commands of the village head and local religious leaders. So, culture plays an important rule in this regard,” Nia Niscaya added.

Therefore Nia estimates that Bali will become one of the destinations that is relatively faster to recover and visited by many tourists once the pandemic is declared over.

“Bali has raised awareness of COVID-19 from the beginning. Although the province has not officially enforced large-scale social restrictions (PSBB), but most of the precautions have been taken,” Nia Niscaya said.

Tourism & Creative Economy Ministry, continued Nia, will make Bali a pilot project for the implementation of the CHS (Clean, Health, and Safety) program to be implemented in various destinations and other tourism business managers in Bali, such as restaurants and hotels.

Besides Bali, the government will also run similar programs in Yogyakarta, Riau Islands, 5 super priority destinations, West Java, Central Java, East Java, DKI Jakarta, and later throughout Indonesia.

“Through this CHS program we want destinations to be truly ready when returning to receive tourists after the pandemic. We do not want foreign and local tourists disappointed because we are not ready. We will encourage the industry to later be able to implement the CHS program well,” Nia noted.

On this occasion Nia also explained the general steps taken by Tourism & Creative Economy Ministry in mitigating the impact of COVID-19 on the tourism sector and the creative economy. [traveltext.id]
