ENTERING A NEW NORMAL ORDER, NGURAH RAI AIRPORT MAXIMIZES HEALTH PROTOCOL

According to General Manager of PT Angkasa Pura I, I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, Herry A.Y. Sikado in Badung Regency said that in essence, we made a total effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19 at the airport and prepare to welcome the new normal era.

He said various efforts had been and were being carried out to implement health protocols such as space management policies through physical distancing, as well as disinfection of various passenger terminal facilities and areas.

“We also check the body temperature of passengers arriving and departing, providing hand sanitizers at various points in the terminal and using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for frontliner personnel who interact with passengers,” he noted.

He explained, besides that, the application of health protocols at the airport was also strictly carried out with aircraft passengers who were included in the excluded criteria, required to follow the applicable health protocol procedures and the inspection of completeness documents for passengers who departed and arrived carried out strictly.

“We are coordinating with the Port Health Office, COVID-19 Bali Province Task Force, Bali, airlines and other institutions to ensure passengers arriving and departing have followed the applicable health protocol,” Herry Sikado said.

He affirmed, during the implementation period of the Task Force Circular Handling of COVID-19 Number 4 Year 2020 which entered into force on May 6, 2020, recorded on May 731, 2020, there were a total of 7,823 passengers included in the excluded criteria.

If specified, the repatriated passenger category dominates with the number of passengers as many as 4,990 people, or 63.8% of the total number of passengers excluded, then the category of passenger trips for government / private institutions with a total of 2,591 passengers or 33.1%.

Furthermore, passengers whose core family members were seriously ill or died were 174 passengers or 2.2%, and those who needed emergency health services were 68 passengers or 0.9%. [antaranews]
