AIRASIA GROUP SCORED THE HIGHEST SALES OF UP TO 41,000 SEATS A DAY

AIRASIA Group recorded the highest sales after hibernation with the latest record of 41,000 seats sold in one day in all AirAsia groups.

According to AirAsia Group CEO Tan Sri Tony Fernandes said, AirAsia also experienced traffic growth of 170% throughout the AirAsia Group. According to him this indicates a strong rebound on air travel demand.

“Especially for AirAsia Indonesia, the most popular routes booked are Jakarta – Denpasar and Jakarta-Medan. Furthermore, a number of the most popular routes ordered in Malaysia include Kota Kinabalu and Kuching to Kuala Lumpur,” Tony said in his official press release.

After that, Bangkok followed to Chiang Mai and Hat Yai for Thailand. Meanwhile for the Philippines is the Manila route to Puerto Princesa and Davao. Continuing for India are Delhi to Srinagar and Bengaluru to Hyderabad.

The passenger load factor as a group reaches an average of around 50% with AirAsia Malaysia reaching 70%. This load amount is also the highest after restarting operations.

“Encouraged by this positive trend and we expect this to continue in the coming weeks. We will increase flight frequency to around 50% of our pre-Covid operations and we hope to resume all domestic routes in the coming weeks and months to meet increasing demand,” he explained.

He added, currently, as a group, AirAsia has operated 152 flights every day throughout the region. We look forward to the reopening of international borders in recognition of the fact that air transportation provides connectivity essential for the resumption of economic activity and global recovery efforts.
