ASITA: THE CONDITIONS OF EAST NUSA TENGGARA’S TOURISM START TO MOVE

THE condition of tourism in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) began to move since the implementation of the new normal in this island based province.

According to the Chairman of the East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Indonesian Travel Association (ASITA), Abed Frans said there has been a positive movement for the current condition of tourism in NTT. I got information from several hotel management friends in Labuan Bajo and Maumere that room bookings were starting to come in.

“This is related to the current condition of tourism in East Nusa Tenggara after being put into normal new conditions in the local province on June 15, 2020. Since the new norms were put in place, the tourism sector has begun to move again after being lethargic due to a new type of corona virus pandemic (COVID-19),” he said .

He added, in addition to booking hotel rooms that began to enter in several areas, in the city of Kupang as the provincial capital, there were also efforts from the city government to use the hotel as a meeting place, training, and so on.

“This is a step that needs to be appreciated because the steps of the city government like this are very helpful for hotels in Kupang City to get excited again with their business activities. In addition, the local government’s policy not to require rapid tests or rapid tests for travel in NTT gets a positive response from tourists,” Abed Frans noted.

For this reason, he continued, ASITA as the tour operator also continued to carry out digital promotions both in the form of emails to relationships and customers, as well as through brochures distributed through other social media networks.

“Communication between tour operators has also intensified the search for the best time for plans to be limited to family trips between tour operators or travel agents and related plans to bring their guests to NTT,” he concluded. [antaranews/photo special]
