COVID-19 PANDEMIC, INDONESIA’S TOURIST VISITS TO S. KOREA DROPPED 68.3%

THE Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) said the number of tourists from Indonesia experienced a sharp decline during the first half of this year.

The number of tourists from Indonesia who visited South Korea since the beginning of this year was recorded at 44,000 people. The number is down 68.3% compared to the same period last year. This figure was obtained from KTO representatives in Jakarta. Of course, the COVID-19 pandemic that has erupted since March is the main cause.

According to KTO Representatives in Jakarta, the number of tourists from Indonesia visiting South Korea only reached 5,600 in the April to June period, down 93% from the previous year.

On Friday (7/17) KTO representatives in Jakarta published a comprehensive guidebook for Indonesian tourists. The book titled “Liburan#keKoreaAja Yuk!”, It contains tourist attractions in Korea that have been adapted to the character and style of Indonesian tourists.

Usually tourists from Indonesia like to take pictures, shop, and relax in unique cafes to be uploaded to their respective social media accounts, especially Instagram.

Through the book, KTO representatives in Jakarta provide specific information for Muslim tourists, such as tourist attractions that have Muslim-friendly facilities and places of worship, as well as guidelines for choosing halal restaurants. [antaranews/photo special]
