PRESIDENT JOKOWI: I WANT A QUANTUM LEAP IN INDONESIA’S TOURISM SECTOR

PRESIDENT Joko Widodo (Jokowi) wants a leap in Indonesia’s tourism sector, which he says requires integrated management support.

“So that there will be a leap in the tourism sector as well as the management of the tourism ecosystem and its supporters,” said President Jokowi in a Limited Meeting on the topic of Merging BUMN in the Aviation and Tourism Sector at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Thursday.

The Head of State emphasized the importance of support from the world of aviation or aviation which really had to be designed with a more integrated management.

According to President, flights must be more consolidated from upstream to downstream. This has never been done, starting from airline management, airport management, flight service management.

President Jokowi wants that it is connected with destination management, including also connected with hotel and travel management. And even to the management of local products and creative industries that we have.

“Judging from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), Indonesia’s economic growth in the second quarter fell to minus 5.32. And I see the affected sector, very deeply contracted, namely in the tourism sector and the aviation sector,” President Jokowi concluded. [antaranews/photo special]
