DOMESTIC TOURIST VISITS IN TANAH LOT, BALI ARE INCREASINGLY

DOMESTIC tourist visits in the Tanah Lot Tourist Area (DTW), Tabanan, Bali, have increased since opening for tourist visits on July 20, 2020.

According to the Operational Manager of Tanah Lot, I Ketut Toya Adnyana, when contacted by telephone in Denpasar, said that now domestic tourist visits are quite good. We started to open on July 20, 2020. Starting from July 20 to August 22, 2020, there were 21,229 domestic visits, while 656 foreign visits.

He explained that domestic tourists are dominated by local Balinese residents, and some come from Jakarta, Malang and Mojokerto. Meanwhile, foreign tourist visits are dominated by foreign tourists who still live in Bali, namely Australia and Europe.

“Visits increase more during holidays or weekends than normal days. Operationally, Tanah Lot is open from 06.00 am to 19.00 pm,” he said.

Toya Adnyana explained that related to the implementation of health protocols, tourists who visit are required to wear a mask, when arriving in the area they must wash their hands first, then check their body temperature, if it is normal then they are allowed to visit. In addition, there is also an integrated post consisting of the Dandim, Kodim, Police, health personnel for emergency handling.

In addition, the Alas Kedaton tourist attraction, which is located in Kukuh Village, Marga District, Tabanan Regency, also enforces new rules for domestic tourists and local residents who are on vacation to Alas Kedaton for free.

Previously, from the statement of the Head of the Bali Province of Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS), Adi Nugroho, said that foreign tourist visits to Bali were only 32 visits, down 11.11%. The number of visits is the lowest in the last four years.

“More tourists visiting Bali in June 2020 came through the sea port, with 22 visits totaling 68.75%. Meanwhile, 10 visits by 31.25% were recorded at the airport,” he said.

When viewed in terms of the number of foreign tourist arrivals from January-June 2020, Chinese tourists recorded the deepest decline compared to January-June 2019 achievements, namely as deep as 81.09%, followed by India 64.43%, and the United States 63.57 %. [antaranews/photo special]
