IMPLEMENTING CHSE IN HOTELS & RESTAURANTS INCREASES TOURIST TRUST

THE implementation of the strict Cleanliness, Healthy, Safety, and Environmental Sustainability (CHSE) health protocols in hotels and restaurants is considered to increase the confidence of tourists who want to visit a tourist destination.

The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy socializes the implementation of guidelines for implementing the CHSE health protocol to re-create tourists’ trust.

According to the Expert Staff for Sustainable Development and Conservation at the Ministry of Tourism, Frans Teguh, said that our party held a Socialization Activity for the Implementation Guidelines for Cleanliness, Safety and Environmental Sustainability at the Santika Premiere Hotel Dyandra Medan, North Sumatra, on August 22, 2020.

Through this activity, he explained, the importance of implementing the CHSE concept in a correct and disciplined manner in accordance with the applicable standard operating procedures (SOP), especially for business actors and consumers in the tourism sector and the creative economy.

“The readiness of destinations and tourism & creative economy players is important for destinations and tourism & creative economy to be able to receive tourist visits again, gaining confidence is important because people seem to lose confidence,” he said.

Frans also said that the SOP had been stated in a handbook compiled by the Ministry of Tourism and was a derivative of the health protocol issued by the Ministry of Health through the Minister of Health Decree (KMK) 382/2020. The contents of this handbook, he said, included elements of prevention, tracing, and handling of COVID-19 cases in the parecraph sector.

“I think this is very important, so that in the end it is related to how the management or management facilities prepare, including employees. And of course the most important thing is cooperation with visitors or guests,” he noted.

The Ministry of Tourism has issued handbooks in the form of general and specific guidelines. For general guidance covering the management or governance of hotels and restaurants such as paying attention to the latest information and appeals and instructions from the Central and Local Governments regarding COVID-19 in their regions, making Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), providing and posting written recommendations, and implementing basic health protocols for employees, guests, and other parties who are active in hotels and restaurants such as wearing masks, maintaining distance and washing hands.

Meanwhile, special guidelines cover three hotel and restaurant service flows starting from the entrance to the employee room, namely guidelines for employers and managers of the facilities that must be provided, guides for guests, and guidelines for employees.

The implementation of health protocols is very important to do well. Because this is one form of effort to encourage the movement of the parecraph sector, as well as increase public trust and productivity in order to feel safe from COVID-19. [traveltext.id]
