PHRI & INACA IN COLLABORATION TO PROVIDE CHEAP TOUR PACKAGES

THE Indonesian Hotel and Restaurant Association (PHRI) and the Indonesia National Air Carriers Association (INACA) are working together to provide affordable and safe tour packages for domestic tourists. This was done to save the community and tourism industry players affected by COVID-19, as well as to provide opportunities for travelers to return to their destinations.

According to the Chairman of the Indonesian Hotel & Restaurant Association (PHRI), Hariyadi Sukamdani, explained that the signing of the collaboration between the association he led and INACA was part of the Safe Travel Campaign carried out by both parties in the last month.

“There are two things that must be considered if you want to increase the number of airplane passengers and hotel occupancy in tourist areas. First, people’s confidence to fly back can be increased by implementing health protocols. Second, in terms of pricing it must be affordable so that people are attracted to leave because it is not burdensome,” he said in official press release.

He added, the higher the movement of airplane passengers and hotel occupancy, the economy of tourist areas could return to increase after in the last few months a sharp decline due to COVID-19. I gave an example that Bali Province was an area that was hard hit by COVID-19. Bali relies heavily on the tourism sector to revive its economy.

“In Bali, the available hotel room capacity is 140,000. Since the pandemic, nearly 80% has closed. Just imagine in Nusa Dua only four hotels are open. As a result, in the second quarter the economy of Bali was minus 10.98%,” he noted.

Therefore, he asked the local government to support the efforts of the two associations by providing tax relaxation for hotel companies and airlines.

Meanwhile, the General Chairman of INACA, Denon Prawiraatmadja, added that the association invited its member airlines to discuss business to business with the hotel chain under PHRI.

“The association only provides an umbrella and bridges. Later the discussion will be carried out by each team from airlines and hotels. If the package is attractive and the price is affordable, I am sure it can motivate people to travel again,” Denon concluded. [traveltext.id]
