MINISTRY ENSURES TOURISM INDUSTRY IS READY TO APPLY CHSE CERTIFICATION

THE Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy ensures that hotel and restaurant industry players throughout Indonesia are increasingly ready to implement CHSE-based health protocol certification (Cleanliness, Health, Safety, and Environment Sustainability).

Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Wishnutama Kusubandio, (22/11), reviewed directly to ensure the readiness of the restaurant industry in an effort to obtain Cleanliness, Health, Safety, and Security Protocol certification. One of them visited the Tuku Cipete Coffee Shop, South Jakarta.

“This effort is made in order to create a sense of security and comfort for tourists when using hotel and restaurant facilities that have carried out the CHSE certification. This certification is given free of charge through an audit process that has been aligned with various world tourism organizations, such as UNWTO and TTCI, as well as the Ministry of Health,” Wishnutama said.

He said that currently the CHSE certification is very important for the tourism industry, especially for hotel and restaurant businesses to restore tourists’ confidence.

Tourism Ministry has implemented a free CHSE certification program for the tourism industry in 34 provinces in Indonesia. To date, there are 352 hotels and restaurants that are CHSE certified in Jakarta. It consists of 205 hotels and 120 restaurants from a total of 902 registrants.

During his visit, Wishnutama strictly implemented the CHSE flow. Before entering, all visitors are asked to wash their hands, check the temperature, and queue at a distance with clear signage. The process of ordering drinks, making drinks, serving snacks, and paying has also been confirmed to fulfill the four dimensions of the CHSE audit.

“In general, the implementation (health protocol) is very good, safe, according to what is currently needed so that all business actors in the tourism sector, including hotel restaurants, coffee shops, can bounce back,” Wishnutama noted.

“Once again, in the current conditions as stated by the president, health must be maintained and we must prevent the spread of COVID-19, but the economy must continue to run. For that we must be able to do what we apply here, keep our distance, wear masks, washing hands and so on, that’s what is important. Sometimes it’s simple but in reality the implementation is not disciplined. We have to keep pushing to make it much better,” Wishnutama said.

In addition to prioritizing CHSE certification, Wishnutama said that his visit to the Tuku Coffee Shop was at the same time participating in promoting the Indonesian coffee industry. Given that these outlets use the basic ingredients of original coffee products from Indonesia, this also supports Bangga Buatan Indonesia. or Proud Made Indonesia program.

“Coffee is one of the strengths that can attract Indonesian tourism and this (coffee tourism) will be one of the leading programs in the future to create tourism attractiveness,” Wishnutama affirmed.

Meanwhile, the Director of Tuku Coffee Shop, Andanu Prasetyo, said that this certification would really help his business so that it would be more trusted because customers did not have to worry about coming to his coffee shop.

“The registration process is also very easy, the information is clear. With CHSE certification, we are ready and will strive to ensure the health, safety and security of everyone who visits our coffee shop. Sticker and QR code proof that the shop is certified is also displayed at the entrance,” Andanu Prasetyo concluded. [traveltext.id]
