6606 BUSINESS PLAYERS ARE TARGETED TO BE INDONESIACARE CERTIFIED

MINISTRY of Tourism and Creative Economy is targeting 6,606 tourism and creative economy entrepreneurs who are certified as “Indonesia Care” with a strong commitment to implementing a health protocol based on Cleanliness, Health, Safety, and Environmental Sustainability (CHSE). This is to increase consumer confidence in the tourism sector and the creative economy.

According to the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Wishnutama Kusubandio, in his statement, Sunday (29/11), said that until now CHSE certification had been carried out for thousands of hotels / restaurants and other tourism businesses in 34 provinces in Indonesia.

From the target of 6,606 certified business actors by the end of this year, an audit process has been carried out for 3,728 business actors. The audit process is carried out by cooperating with a certification body that independently assesses the implementation of the CHSE standards.

“The results of this assessment are the basis for labeling InDOnesiaCARE for every tourism business that has met the predetermined criteria, which has implemented health protocols properly so as to create a sense of security visiting,” Wishnutama Kusubandio said.

He added that as a result, many tourism business actors have passed the audit and are entitled to Indonesia Care certification. Like in Bali, as many as 666 business actors have finished being certified for free. Consisting of 313 hotels and 353 restaurants, of the 1,000 target applicants.

“From the results of the audit, there are also hotels/restaurants and other tourism business actors that have not met the standardized CHSE health protocols, so there is guidance. I, together with Tourism Ministry will also conduct inspections and supervision in the field,” Wishnutama noted.

Wishnutama explained that tourism is a business of trust and experience business. The challenge in the midst of this pandemic is to make consumers believe that business destinations and tourism workers can provide safe products and services. Providing real experiences so that consumers can provide testimonials to other consumers that Indonesian tourism is safe.

“Collaboration with local governments and industry is required so that the implementation of this certification can be carried out efficiently and effectively. We will continue to carry out this free national CHSE certification in 2021 with various stimuli for tourism and creative economy businesses so that the creative sector can immediately revive,” Wishnutama noted.
