SANDIAGA: ALL STAKEHOLDERS SOLID TO RAISE TOURISM & CREATIVE ECONOMY

THE Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno, asked all stakeholders in the tourism sector and the creative economy to maintain solidarity in developing the tourism sector and the creative economy. Especially in an effort to revive the tourism sector and the creative economy from the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“You could say this is a difficult time for the tourism sector and the creative economy, but we have to keep our spirits up and we have to make sure we have a strong commitment in generating tourism and the creative economy,” Sandiaga Uno said.

Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, Sandiaga said, reminded that there should be no more divisive issues that would be counter-productive amidst the government’s rapid efforts to revive the tourism sector and the creative economy. As is well known, tourism and the creative economy have great potential in creating jobs.

“Mr. Luhut wants there to be no misguided debate, such as regarding religious, halal, or sharia tourism. It is absolutely unnecessary,” Sandiaga noted.

He said that his presence in Bali during his first working visit as Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy/Head of the Tourism and Creative Economy Agency was none other than to hear input from all tourism & creative economy stakeholders.

“Let all parties join hands to ensure that the recovery of the tourism sector and the creative economy can be our locomotive in opening up the widest possible job opportunities,” Sandiaga stated.

After being inaugurated as Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy/Head of the Tourism and Creative Economy Agency recently, Sandiaga Uno said he received two messages from President Joko Widodo. First, it must focus on the 5 Super Priority Destinations and 5 Super Priority Destinations that follow to ensure that all aspects of these destinations are packaged properly. Starting from dances, culinary, fashion, crafts, and others.

Second is to prepare a calendar of events for each destination, especially in 5 super priority destinations so that the tourism sector not only survives and recovers, but can also progress and become a locomotive to create jobs. [traveltext.id]
