DIRECTORATE GENERAL OF IMMIGRATION ISSUES 148,311 VISAS THROUGHOUT 2020

THE Directorate General of Immigration has received 148,311 applications that were approved until the visa was issued. This amount includes the issuance of visas for foreigners who will enter the Indonesian Territory and foreigners who are in Indonesia but cannot return to their country due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Giving visas to foreigners in Indonesia (onshore visas) is an innovation made by the Directorate General of Immigration in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic so that foreigners whose residence permits run out can apply for a visa without having to leave the Indonesian Territory.

Meanwhile, the passports issued throughout 2020 were 1,382,313 books, dominated by 1,245,763 48-page passports and 130,682 48-page electronic passports.

“It should also be conveyed that 8,607 (eight thousand six hundred and seven) passport books of which were published by accessing the Eazy Passport service (collective passport service),” he explained.

“The achievements that have been described are not easy things to obtain and make in 2020, the level of difficulty faced is very different.
