LIANG NDARA VILLAGE WAS DECLARED AS A SUSTAINABLE TOURISM VILLAGE

LIANG Ndara Village in Mbeliling District, West Manggarai Regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) has been officially named by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy as one of the sustainable tourism villages in the country.

Liang Ndara Village officially pocketed a certificate and award certificate from the Indonesian Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy Council Certification Institute which was handed over directly by Tourism Minister, Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno in Jakarta on Tuesday (9/3), said the Managing Director of the Labuan Bajo Flores Tourism Authority Agency (BOPLBF) Shana Fatina when contacted from Kupang.

“We should be proud of the achievements of this Liang Ndara Village. Their hard work so far which has consistently built their village into a tourist village has yielded good results,” she said.

The coronation of a sustainable tourism village was carried out after going through various stages such as auditor training, instrument socialization and filling assistance, desk evaluation, visitation of tourist villages, to panel reviewer meetings.

This sustainable tourism village program is one of the government’s efforts, in this case the Ministry of Tourism, to encourage quality tourism. Tourism villages, Shana Fatina continued, are expected to be able to maintain and improve the quality of their tourism products as well as local creative economy products.

Fatina explained that in the last ten years or so, Liang Ndara Village has continued to dress itself into a tourist village that focuses on cultural tourism. On the other hand, this village also has many other tourism attractions ranging from nature tourism, community activities, to a wealth of flora and fauna.

Fatina added that the election of Liang Ndara Village as one of the sustainable tourism villages at the national level certainly had a good effect on self-confidence. Therefore, he hopes that other tourism villages in NTT can absorb the enthusiasm of the achievements of Liang Ndara Village which is very consistent in designing its regions based on tourism.
