UBUD WILL RECEIVE FOREIGN TOURIST VISITS STARTING AUGUST 17, 2021

TOURIST destinations in Ubud, Sanur and Nusa Dua in Bali Province which have been designated as green zone tourism or COVID-19 free will be able to accept foreign tourists starting August 17, 2021.

According to Gianyar Regent I Made Mahayastra, tourist destinations in Ubud, Sanur and Nusa Dua in Bali Province which have been designated as green zone tourism or COVID-19 free will be able to accept foreign tourists starting August 17, 2021.

“Based on talks with Minister of Toursim & Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno, Ubud and two other green zone tourist destinations in Bali will start accepting foreign tourists on August 17, 2021. This is still a trial phase,” Regent Gianyar said after accompanying President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) while reviewing the COVID-19 vaccination at Puri Ubud, Gianyar regency.

He explained, in March 2022 then all tourism in Bali will be opened to foreign tourists.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Tourism & Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno and the Governor of Bali have established three green zones for tourist destinations in Bali, namely Ubud, Sanur and Nusa Dua. This tourist destination green zone means tourist destinations that are free from COVID-19.

When visiting and reviewing the COVID-19 vaccination in Ubud, President Jokowi said that three tourist areas in the province of Bali, namely Ubud, Sanur and Nusa Dua, will become pilot green zone tourism areas, which are safe destinations for domestic and foreign tourists.

By establishing three green zones for tourist destinations in Bali, tourists, both domestic and foreign, feel safe on vacation in Bali. On the other hand, the tourism industry and the people of Bali will be safe and comfortable because the tourists who come are free of COVID-19.

President Jokowi added that if the three tourist destinations are green or free of COVID-19, they have been opened to tourists, they will continue to be monitored and evaluated every week. How the progress after receiving tourists will continue to be evaluated and monitored.

“I hope that the opening of three green tourist destinations in Bali will revive the economy and tourism in Bali and national tourism,” President Jokowi concluded. [photo special]
