REOPENING UBUD, GIANYAR PREPARES COVID-19 TRACING APPLICATION FOR TOURISTS

THE Gianyar regional government has prepared a guard at the entrance to the Regency and an application that traces every movement of tourists in preparation for reopening Ubud. The application will use a QR code that will be placed in every hotel, restaurant, shopping center and tourist attraction.

As for the opening of Bali tourism, the Ministry of Tourism together with the Tourism Office in Bali and several Balinese tourism actors conducted a focus group discussion to unify perceptions and commitments to welcome the opening of Bali tourism. The group discussion focused on strategic policies to accelerate the opening of Bali tourism.

According to the Deputy for Strategic Policy at the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, Kurleni Umar, said the opening of Bali tourism would be carried out in stages. Opening up tourism will also be carried out if the risk of transmission is low. This can be realized by vaccination to achieve herd immunity, especially in the Priority Zone.

“Apart from that, we will also ensure the readiness of the industry to guarantee excellent service and consistency in the application of health services or by certifying Cleanliness, Health, Safety and Environmental Sustainability (CHSE). There are several parameters that must be met in the opening of tourism, such as a reduction in the rate of new cases and a decrease in the population contracting COVID-19,” he said.

He explained, apart from that, there needs to be an adequate health and safety system readiness which is also a parameter to open Bali. The Ministry of Tourism also asked for a safe transportation system in the opening of tourism later.

“I want someone to be responsible for transportation, which means ensuring an integrated transportation system with a safe zone. The point here is to ensure that tourists visit the green zone,” he added.

Meanwhile, Head of the Bali Tourism Office, Putu Astawa, also emphasized that travel agents should invite tourists to visit the green zone. With a note, tourists who come are in good health and so are when they return to their country in good health.

“Travel agencies must ensure tourists visit the green zone. The travel agency must also arrange tour packages according to the governor’s direction. The travel bubble that will be opened will include tourists from China, the UAE, Singapore and Korea,” he noted.

Astawa hopes that the governance of tourism development must be carried out in a patterned, comprehensive, planned, directed and integrated manner in one area to create a better life for the Balinese people.
