GOING TO SINGAPORE? PREPARE FIRST IATA TRAVEL PASS STARTS ON MAY 2021

STARTING May 1, 2021, aircraft passengers who support Singapore can use the IATA Travel Pass, to save the PCR COVID-19 test results as a condition for departure. This provision is a collaboration between the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) and the International Air Transport Association (IATA).

Quoted from the official IATA website, said passengers traveling to Singapore can use the IATA Travel Pass when checking in and upon arrival at the Changi Airport immigration checkpoint. It aims to facilitate efficient travel through the COVID-19 test digital certificate.

The IATA Travel Pass itself is a mobile application that stores travel requirements documents, including storing data on the covid-19 test certification from an accredited laboratory.

According to the Director General of IATA, Willie Wals, said that the IATA Travel Pass is an important tool to restart the aviation industry by providing trusted health certification to the government. The Singapore aviation industry’s trust in the IATA Travel Pass is considered significant.

“Trials are ongoing. Travelers can have full confidence that their personal data is safe and under their own control. The success of our joint efforts will make IATA’s partnership with the Singapore government a model for other countries to follow,” he said.

He added, after a successful trial by Singapore Airlines, the Singapore border and health surveillance authorities will receive an IATA Travel Pass as a valid presentation form of the COVID-19 test results. [kontan.co.id/photo special]
