BALI OPENS TOURISM IN JULY 2021, BUT THERE ARE NO BOOKINGS FROM TOURISTS

THE Bali government assesses that the opening of international tourism in mid-July 2021 will have been greeted with high enthusiasm by foreign tourists. Although, until now there have been no bookings or bookings made by foreign tourists.

According to the Deputy Governor of Bali, Tjokorda Oka Artha Ardhana Sukawati, said we cannot confirm or predict the number of foreign tourists who will visit Bali at the opening of tourism in July 2021. In fact, the Bali Government has not yet seen any booking for tourist visits.

“The condition of the increasing spread of the COVID-19 pandemic in a number of countries such as India, has become a consideration for foreign tourists to decide on a vacation in Bali. Even so, Bali will still prepare for the opening of tourism and also suppress the spread of the Covid-19 case which has started hitting the last few days,” he said.

He explained, we still see, it is not important for us to how many or how many [tourists who will visit Bali], let’s try it in stages so that we can evaluate it little by little. Furthermore, regarding Indian tourists, the central government has also prohibited the visit of residents of that country to Indonesia.

“The policy will also apply in Bali, which in the near future will open international tourism. The central policy is like that, and flights are recognized, that’s natural. It should be noted, a number of preparations made by Bali in the opening of international tourism include improving hospital services and adding more inpatient rooms. Moreover, hospital services are one of the requirements for opening tourism to foreign tourists,” Artha Ardhana Sukawati noted.

He added that the three green areas, namely Ubud, Sanur, and Nusa Dua, have also been supported by health supporting infrastructure. In Nusa Dua there is already an international standard BMC hospital. Meanwhile, Sanur is close to Bali Mandara Hospital which is also a COVID-19 referral hospital. Finally, in Ubud, a representative Kenak Medika and Ari Canthi Hospital were recently opened.

“In terms of tourism actors, since last year, Bali has prepared a tourism industry certification that is safe to visit. The tourism industry has prepared Cleanliness, Health, Safety and Environmental Sustainability (CHSE) certificates which would have been prepared if international tourism opened in September last year. Bali is currently also trying to prevent the spread of COVID-19 by encouraging vaccinations,” he concluded. [antaranews/photo special]
