GARUDA ENSURES FLIGHT READINESS IN THE PERIOD OF HOMECOMING BAN

PT Garuda Indonesia ensures its readiness in providing air transportation services for people who have to carry out flights during the Lebaran 2021 Homecoming Control period.

According to the President Director of Garuda Indonesia, Irfan Setiaputra revealed that Garuda Indonesia as a National Airline is committed to playing an active role in efforts to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic, but also continues to strive to ensure the availability of air connectivity for people who have to travel during this period.

“Providing flight accessibility for people in need, remains our top priority, especially during this Eid al-Fitr homecoming transportation control period, considering that air transportation services are a crucial need in supporting community mobility and playing an important role in accelerating national economic recovery through the accessibility of the air cargo services we serve,” said Irfan in a press statement in Jakarta.

Irfan explained, in accordance with the Regulation of the Minister of Transportation Number PM13/2021 concerning Transportation Control for the Eid Al-Fitr 1442 H Period, several types of trips that are excluded include trips related to public services, security, health assistance, also for the purposes of assignment and service, visits from sick families, visits of sad family members who died, travel needs for delivery of pregnant women and their companions, to the needs of health services.

People who carry out exempted trips must also fulfill travel requirements documents such as a letter of assignment from their superiors, supporting health documents such as a COVID-19 examination certificate with negative results in accordance with applicable regulations, as well as various other requirements.

“Currently, Garuda Indonesia continues to carry out intensive coordination with all stakeholders in the aviation sector to ensure smooth flight operations,” he noted.

Irfan added, Garuda Indonesia is committed to optimizing various flight service infrastructures in support of its commitment to implementing health protocols, one of which is presented through the ‘Fly Garuda’ mobile application. This application provides a more seamless and contactless flight service starting from the ticket reservation process, check-in, to access to EHAC services.

“We hope that the readiness of this flight operational service can be part of Garuda Indonesia’s participation in supporting broader recovery efforts through the accessibility of flight services for people who are required to travel by air during the transportation restrictions period during this year’s homecoming period, especially for those who must. carry out work and assignments related to the public interest,” concluded Irfan.
