HOMECOMING BANNED, STAYCATIONS AS AN VACATION ARE STILL IN DEMAND

THE policy of prohibiting homecoming to break the chain of the spread of COVID-19 makes people unable to freely return to their hometowns, but staycations as an alternative to vacation are still in demand.

According to Traveloka’s Head of Corporate Communications, Reza Amirul Juniarshah, said that so far the trend of staycations and road trips has persisted until now. Grateful that this trend is in line with government directives (not to go home.

Consumers, Riza said, can choose which accommodation suits their needs while filtering which places have implemented health protocols through the available features to provide comfort in the midst of a pandemic.

Meanwhile, for road trips, the cities that are of interest are usually not far from the residence of the consumer. Places that are loved are places that can be reached within a few hours using a private vehicle.

Consumers also have the option of taking a vacation without having to go far by taking advantage of other features to unwind, such as finding a restaurant with delicious dishes or a salon to take care of themselves.

“Traveloka emphasized that our party will always support government policies to jointly try to break the chain of transmission of the corona virus. We recommend not violating government policies,” Reza noted.

Meanwhile, Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno, appealed to the public to be disciplined in implementing strict health protocols ahead of Eid. We must continue to socialize and educate creative economic centers and tourist destinations in tourist destinations to adapt strict and disciplined health protocols.

“Indeed, the impact (the decrease in visits to tourist attractions) is concerned, there must be a decline. But I am sure that with the adaptation we will open up opportunities for new tourism. I also remind managers of tourist attractions in various regions to implement strict health protocols so that the COVID-19 number does not rose after Lebaran,” he affirmed.

Sandiaga emphasized the importance of implementing strict health protocols, especially during the Eid al-Fitr holiday which has the potential to cause crowds in various places so that Indonesia does not experience the third wave of the COVID-19 pandemic like the one currently hitting India.
