MALAYSIA LOCKDOWN, LION AIR GROUP HAS DELAYED FLIGHTS TO & FROM MALAYSIA

MALINDO Air, based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and airlines in Indonesia, namely Lion Air, Batik Air, and Wings Air, members of Lion Air Group Indonesia, stop or suspend from Wednesday (18/3) until 31 March 2020 for international flight services to and from Malaysia, including from Indonesia.

“This step is to support the control of the national movement declared by the Malaysian government, where Malaysian people are prohibited from leaving the country and restrictions imposed on the entry of all foreign tourists and visitors to Malaysia,” said Corporate Communications Strategic of Lion Air Group, Danang Mandala Prihantoro in his official statement.

Lion Air Group stressed that this temporary delay was also carried out based on company recommendations and according to the conditions that have been developed at this time, in an effort to ward off (preventive measures) against the spread of corona virus disease (covid-19).

“Lion Air Group has provided information on temporary delays to all guests or passengers,” he said.

According to him, Lion Air Group facilitates all prospective passengers who have purchased tickets (issued ticket) with a refund according to applicable conditions and will be given the option to move the date of travel (rescheduling) depending on the availability of seats.

In addition, Lion Air Group always coordinates with all relevant parties, regulators to monitor developments.

Danang said, the decision to stop the flight temporarily was carried out in order to prioritize the safety factors of the flight crew, ground service officers (ground handling) and guests or passengers.

“Lion Air Group complies and carries out all international aviation rules, regulators and company regulations in carrying out operations in accordance with standard operating procedures that meet the safety, security and comfort requirements of aviation (safety first),” Danang concluded.
