NGURAH RAI AIRPORT STARTS TO APPLY THE CONCEPT OF SOCIAL DISTANCING

INTERNATIONAL Airport I Gusti Ngurah Rai, Bali, applies the concept of social distancing in a number of public service areas to minimize the potential for transmission of the new Corona Virus or COVID-19 in the airport area.

According to Communication and Legal Manager of PT Angkasa Pura I (Persero) I Gusti Ngurah Rai Bali International Airport Branch Office, Arie Ahsanurrohim, in Mangupura, Badung said that this social distancing has begun to be implemented at Ngurah Rai Airport since Wednesday (3/18).

He explained that Social Distancing was carried out with a number of steps, namely installing some distance guide stickers and rearranging the waiting chairs used by airport service users so that those who were seated were not close to each other.

“We give a distance of one meter so that if there are passengers who are sick do not transmit to the person sitting next to him,” Arie said.

He added, our party also installed queue distance stickers posted on the airport’s Security Check Point (SCP) area and boarding gate area so that passengers could make their distance while queuing at the airport.

“A number of foot mark stickers are also posted on the elevator or elevator to limit the distance and the maximum number of people who can use the elevator at the same time. We have implemented these social distancing concepts in both the Domestic Terminal and the International Terminal I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport,” Arie noted.

Based on the monitoring since the implementation of the social distancing concept, his side saw airport service users, especially when entering the peak hours, they have obeyed and implemented the social distancing concept quite well.

“However, we emphasize that this does not disrupt airport services for passengers,” he said.

Arie added that the program was carried out by Angkasa Pura I in accordance with President Joko Widodo’s direction through his speech related to handling the spread and impact of COVID-19, Circular Letter of the Minister of State-owned Enterprises, and Circular of the President Director Number: ED. 15/KP.10.43.2020/DU concerning COVID-19 Preparedness and Prevention in PT Angkasa Pura I.
