INDONESIAN TRAVELERS URGED TO RESPECT CROATIA’S SELF-QUARANTINE RULE

THE Indonesian Embassy in Zagreb has asked Indonesians planning to visit Croatia to respect the nation’s 14-day self-quarantine rule for travelers from 68 countries, including Indonesia, in wake of the coronavirus pandemic.

“We would like to request citizens who plan to travel to Croatia in the near future to keep themselves apprised of the latest situation and to remain alert,” said a press statement from the Indonesian Embassy in Zagreb recently.

On March 15, 2020, the Croatian Government had issued an official notification asking travelers from 68 nations, including Indonesia, to observe self-quarantine for 14 days after arrival.

As part of measures to contain the spread of the deadly virus, the Croatian Government has also banned all public events with more than 100 people and reduced the working hours of public facilities.

The Indonesian Embassy in Croatia has also urged Indonesians residing in the country to reconsider their plans to leave Croatia, and to practice a healthy lifestyle. It has also advised them to wash their hands with soap and avoid mass gatherings.

In addition, they have been urged to keep themselves posted on information provided by local authorities.

The Embassy said Indonesian citizens can find further information on its official website (www.kemlu.go.id/zagreb). It has also advised them to check the embassy’s social media platforms (instagram: @indonesiainzagreb; twitter: @indonesiainzagreb; and, facebook: @IndonesiaInZagreb) for updates.

Indonesian nationals can contact the Embassy’s staffers on +385 1 4578311, or by dialing the hotline number +385 99 46 88 444.

The Croatian Health Ministry said there have been 57 confirmed coronavirus cases in the country as of March 16, 2020. Three COVID-19 patients have been discharged from a local hospital post recovery.

Indonesia is among the countries outside of mainland China that have seen confirmed COVID-19 cases. As on Wednesday afternoon, at least 227 Indonesians were reported to have tested positive for the virus. [antaranews/photo special]
