MANDALIKA REBOUND EFFORTS TO RESTORE NTB TOURISM IN NEW NORMAL

MINISTRY of Tourism and Creative Economy fully supports the implementation of the Mandalika Reborn event as a form of initiation and efforts to restore the tourism sector and creative economy in NTB in the new normal era.

According to the Deputy of Destination and Infrastructure Development Tourism Ministry, Hari Santosa Sungkari said the ministry fully supports the recovery of the West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) tourism sector through various means. Among them distributed aid in the form of hygiene, health and safety support tools, cleaning facilities such as sinks and bins, thermo guns, first aid and disinfectants, sapta charm signage boards, and health protocol boards to the NTB Provincial Government.

“Mandalika is one of the 5 Super Priority Destinations. This program is a form of commitment of central government support that synergizes with the regions and related stakeholders, and is part of the simulation and customization of the post-epidemic COVID-19 protocol, because cleaning the destination is very important to improve the indicators of Cleanliness, Health, Safety and Environmental Sustainability (CHSE ),” Hari said.

Hari explained that this assistance was given as proof of the commitment of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy to convince tourists that Mandalika is a safe and clean tourist attraction to visit. So that tourists both domestic and foreign tourists do not need to worry about visiting Lombok, especially the Mandalika region.

“This should become a habit. We need to show the world that Mandalika as a Super Priority Destination is safe to visit after the COVID-19 epidemic,” Hari said.

At the same time, the Director of Regional Destination Development II, Deputy for the Development of Destinations and Infrastructure of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, Wawan Gunawan, added that there must be innovation in each tourist destination to adjust and implement health protocols.

“That way, the destination becomes COVID-19 green zone. As confidence rises, the destination will definitely be visited by tourists,” Henry noted.

The Mandalika Rebound event held on July 16-17 2020 opened at Kuta Mandalika Beach. The event took place at 3 points along the Mandalika area namely Kuta Mandalika Beach, Aan beach and Gerupuk beach, which the majority visited by tourists to surf.
