MULTI Bintang Indonesia, a producer of Beer Bintang and Heineken drinks in Indonesia, announced steps and developments in an effort to become a leading company in the aspect of sustainability in Indonesia through the launch of the 2019 Sustainability Report.

According to Ika Noviera, Director of Corporate Affairs for Multi Bintang Indonesia, currently, half of the energy used in Multi Bintang’s production facilities comes from renewable energy sources, and the company has a target of achieving 100% renewable energy use by 2025 as an effort to reduce its carbon footprint.

“As the oldest brewer in Indonesia, Multi Bintang has learned throughout its journey to thrive in ever-changing environmental conditions, and climate change is one of the biggest challenges we face in this era,” she said.

Ika Noviera explained that the company is committed to continuing to contribute to creating a brighter and more sustainable future for people and the planet, through the sustainability strategy of “Brewing a Better World”, which is centered on partnerships and collaborations with employees, local communities and other stakeholders.

“For nine decades, we have formulated and served Bir Bintang, the most iconic beer brand in Indonesia. We are committed to always presenting the best quality products for consumers, by always placing this earth and the people in it at the center of our company. Therefore, we set ambitious targets for this company in our sustainability journey and always strive to make a meaningful impact,” Ika Noviera noted.

She added, with the theme “Brewing a Limitless Tomorrow”, the 2019 Sustainability Report describes how the company integrates all business activities and collaborates with key stakeholders in various initiatives. The report highlights Multi Bintang’s progress and achievements related to important focus areas that support the company’s efforts to develop a sustainable value chain as a whole. []
