THERE ARE CONDITIONS THAT MUST BE PREPARED FOR A VISIT TO SINGAPORE

SINGAPORE has been piloting a Fast Lane arrangement with other countries to gradually reopen its borders to allow its citizens to carry out important activities abroad and vice versa. To enter this country, there are several things that must be considered and prepared.

Indonesia together with Singapore, Malaysia, China, Brunei Darussalam, Japan and the Republic of Korea are incorporated in the Reciprocal Green Lane (RGL) which allows the resumption of short trips for business purposes and important official trips.

Departure
To enter Singapore, every visitor from another country is required to register for a SafeTravel Pass (STP) through a government agency or company that sponsors or provides an invitation to come to Singapore so that this visit is not possible on personal behalf.

The company or government agency that becomes the sponsor will later apply for STP on your behalf. Approval or rejection of STP will be given to the sponsor which is then forwarded to you.

Visitors must also have a SG Arrival Card (SGAC) which consists of a health certificate in the form of a negative PCR test result 72 hours before departure and reporting accommodation and travel plans through the Safe Travel Concierge (STC) application.

Regarding travel plans, visitors can only stop at business places, hotels and have limited contact with local residents. This means that visitors are not allowed to visit recreational areas, shop or make private appointments unless they are included in a controlled travel plan submission.

RGL itself requires a maximum itinerary of 10 days and is not allowed to extend. In addition, visitors are not allowed to bring other family members from Indonesia during their visit.

For example, on a business trip, you invite family members to participate, with the aim that when there is a business meeting, the family can do recreation or shopping. This is strictly prohibited and if you are caught violating it you can get certain sanctions that will harm you for future visits.

“The invitee is obliged to make an itinerary for visitors and as an organization guarantee that will stick to the itinerary. The Indonesian government has agreed that this is the rule,” said Mohamed Firhan Abdul Salam, representative of the Singapore Tourism Board Indonesia in Singapore some time ago.

Before leaving, visitors must also order a PCR test for arrival at Changi airport, Singapore. This registration can be done through the STC application, then you just have to show the booking barcode to the immigration officer at Changi.

Arrive in Singapore
All documents such as passports, tickets, travel plans, approval letters from STP to negative PCR test results from Indonesia must be printed and presented to immigration officers at Changi airport. When all of these document checks are completed, visitors will be directed to undergo a PCR test on arrival at the airport.

After performing the test, visitors will then be directed to take the TraceTogether token. The use of tokens and activating them is mandatory to make tracking easier if someone is detected who has COVID-19 and visits him/her who is nearby.

Visitors can then head to the pick-up area, where transportation is prearranged and will be taken directly to the hotel. Visitors are then asked to isolate themselves until the test results come out, a maximum of 48 hours.

If the result is positive for COVID-19, visitors will immediately be picked up by an ambulance for medical treatment. The cost of medical treatment is borne by the visitor himself unless insurance is included by the sponsor.

Return Back
Before returning to Indonesia, visitors are required to take a PCR test at least 72 hours before flight departure at a referral clinic in Singapore. The results of this test must be brought and shown during check-in at Changi airport and to immigration officers at Soekarno Hatta airport, Jakarta. Visitors are also required to return the TraceTogether token at Changi airport prior to departure. [antaranews/photo special]
