BANK Indonesia (BI) of East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Province distributed cottage development assistance for two tourist destinations NTT, including Liman Beach, Kupang Regency and Todo Tourism Village, Manggarai Regency.
According to the Head of the NTT Provincial BI Representative, I Nyoman Ariawan Atmaja, in a press statement received in Kupang, said that we distributed the cottage assistance to pokdarwis (tourism awareness groups) as support for NTT tourism development.
“Assistance for the construction of huts on Liman Beach and several places in Todo Tourism Village is to complete supporting facilities in tourist destinations to make it more attractive to visit. This cottage assistance is in the process of being built and I hope the local governor or deputy governor can inaugurate it when it is completed,” he said.
He explained that BI continues to support the development of tourism in NTT which is made the provincial government as the main sector driving the economy. In addition to assistance with supporting facilities in the two destinations, BI NTT has also provided assistance to build a weaving gallery in Kupang City as part of shopping destinations.
In the future, continued Ariawan, BI NTT has also prepared a weaving festival which is planned to be held in January 2021 and an Indonesian weaving festival in mid-2021.
Ariawan added that this festival was presented to conserve weaving as a cultural product of the people of NTT, which is also one of the tourism dance icons in the island-based province.
“In this festival we will also carry out an auction of woven fabrics so that producers or micro, small and medium enterprises can benefit directly,” he concluded. [antaranews/photo special]
