PHRI & AIRASIA COLABORATES FOR THE RESTORATION OF DOMESTIC TOURISM

IN order to restore national tourism, especially domestic tourism, the Indonesian Hotel and Restaurant Association (PHRI) built a partnership with AirAsia Indonesia by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

The signing of the MoU was carried out by Hariyadi BS Sukamdani as Chairman of PHRI and Veranita Yosephine Sinaga as President Director of AirAsia Indonesia witnessed by the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Wishnutama Kusubandio and Chairman of the Indonesia National Air Carriers Association (INACA), Denon Prawiraatmadja, the signing was held in Jakarta (16/12).

According to Hariyadi, BS Sukamdani said that this cooperation generally contains efforts to increase the movement of domestic tourists through hotel bundling packages and airplane tickets. PHRI will include the best prices from its members to be bundled with AirAsia flight ticket prices.

“These packages will be distributed through the networks of each party so that they can be accessed by people who want to return to traveling in Indonesia. The realization of this package will be accessible in the first quarter of 2021, where this period is considered low season,” he said.

Hariyadi BS Sukamdani added that the Hospitality and Restaurant sector is currently very ready to welcome back guests and customers in hotels and restaurants, because we already have a health protocol and a Cleanliness, Health, Safety and Environmental Sustainability (CHSE) certificate. We want to aggressively recover the tourism sector forge loyal positioning and market partners, and today we are doing it with AirAsia Indonesia.

Meanwhile, Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Wishnutama Kusubandio said the Ministry of Tourism fully supports the efforts of PHRI and AirAsia Indonesia in restoring national tourism, because with the readiness of health protocols in the hotel, airlines and airport sectors, there are no longer options to wait, plus vaccinations are planned to start in early 2021.

“Of course this is an important step to convince the market and provide the best choices for customers to travel in Indonesia” Wishnutama Kusubandio noted.

Likewise, Veranita Yosephine Sinaga said that AirAsia Indonesia is known as an airline that often provides discounts and special prices and is actively opening flight routes. We have just opened 3 new routes, namely Jakarta-Pekanbaru, Jakarta-Padang, and Bandung-Bali.

“The current total of our 22 routes and we will continue to see opportunities to increase flight frequency to serve more Indonesians traveling within the country,” she said.
