TRAVELOKA FINDS INDICATIONS CANCELLATION TRIP UNTIL YEAR-END

THE transportation and tourism service company Traveloka found indications of changing the schedule (reschedule) and cancellation of travel for the end of 2020, following the strict requirements for entering and leaving areas such as Bali and Jakarta.

According to Traveloka’s Head of Corpcomm, Reza Amirul Juniarshah said there are indications of cancellation and rescheduling, and we have anticipated that there will be cancellations and rescheduling. We don’t see this as becoming a big issue like it was a few months ago (when the pandemic started).

Furthermore, Reza said that his party considered the government’s policy to be good, because it aims to reduce and suppress the spread of the corona virus. Regarding Bali, we see that the government through this policy is good for reducing the rate of spread of the virus.

“The conditions given by the government, the solution already exists. We see it as optimistic, on the one hand this is a good policy to reduce the spread, but we also see that users are much more introspective and they want to travel safely,” he said.

He added that this is not without reason. According to data, users at Traveloka are now prioritizing three things before finally choosing to travel. The first is about implementing health protocols, price promotion, and ordering flexibility. Traveloka also launched the “Traveloka Clean Partners” campaign, which is one of the supports for health protocols from the government.

In addition, Reza said that user demand for rapid tests and swab tests is increasing on his platform. Traveloka provides rapid and swab test features. So far, there have been 150 thousand bookings on Traveloka. This makes us quite optimistic about our users. We see that our users have good awareness and vigilance.

When asked about the travel trends in 2020, Reza revealed that “staycations” and “road trips” have been options for traveling in recent times. There are several collaborations with the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy. The government has indeed encouraged staycations and road trips as a way to reduce and limit crowds.

“The trend is high in staycations and road trips. Most of the staycations are in Jakarta and Surabaya. Meanwhile, many of the road trips go to Yogyakarta and Bandung,” he concluded. [antaranews/photo special]
