CATHAY Pacific helps customers travel more peacefully by working with AXA General Insurance Hong Kong Limited to provide free COVID-19 coverage to all passengers when they fly with us.

Customers flying with Cathay Pacific from today to 28 February 2021 will be covered for medical costs related to a COVID-19 diagnosis that arose while abroad. Our free COVID-19 insurance applies automatically – all customers have to do is book their flight.

Coverage includes: (1). Medical and inpatient, we will cover the PCR test for COVID-19 and hospitalization of the customer if needed. Coverage of coverage related to COVID-19 treatment is up to US$200,000. (2). Quarantine fee, customers will receive an allowance of US $ 100 per day per passenger for up to 14 days due to COVID-19 to help them during the unexpected and mandatory quarantine period.

(3). Evacuation and repatriation, Cathay Pacific will ensure that customers, including traveling companions, or their affected children can return home safely.

Customers are covered for a period of 30 days from their date of departure, or until they return to their home, whichever comes first. Security is always our number one priority.

To ensure our customers take off with peace of mind, we’ve introduced Cathay Care, several protective measures that are enhanced at every stage of the journey – from check-in to the cabin. These steps include: (1). Temperature inspection, (2). Contactless check-in and boarding, (3). Antimicrobial coating at check-in counters, kiosks and other public areas, (4). Must wear face coverings for passengers and cabin crew during the flight, (5). Improved cleaning and sanitation of all surfaces, (6). HEPA air filter that removes 99.999% of contaminants in the air.
