EMIRATES RELEASES A NEW PREMIUM ECONOMY CABIN ON AIRBUS A380

KICKING off 2021, Emirates is launching a new Premium Economy cabin product with an upgraded and fresh look in all the cabins of Airbus A380 aircraft. The A380 with a Premium Economy cabin will be put into operation in the coming weeks, and will be flown on various routes.

According to Emirates Airline President Sir Tim Clark said in a press release that Emirates received its newest A380 aircraft from Airbus facilities in Hamburg last week, and the remaining order for 5 A380 aircraft will also be delivered with Premium Economy cabins in 2021 and 2022. Emirates Premium Economy seats as well will be installed on several Boeing 777Xs and will join Emirates’ fleet in 2023.

“Before we have a decent number of seats to take to the broad market, we plan to offer the Emirates Premium Economy experience a free upgrade to our key customers,” he said.

He explained, the Premium Economy cabin offers 56 seats in a 2-4-2 configuration. With a height of up to 40 inches, Emirates premium economy seats are 19.5 inches wide and can recline 8 inches into a comfortable cradle position with plenty of room to recline.

Wrapped in cream-colored stain-resistant leather with detailed stitching and wood panel finish similar to Business Class, each seat is designed to provide optimal comfort and support with an adjustable headrest, calf rest and 6-way footrest.

Each seat, he continued features a 13.3-inch screen, one of the largest in its class, for enjoying a range of music, movies, TV, news and other content unmatched on ice, Emirates’ inflight system.

“Customers will also find a variety of unique touches, including easily accessible on-seat charging points, wide dining tables and side cocktail tables.
