THE Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy stated that the Lido Creative Economy Zone (CEZ), Bogor, West Java can absorb up to 21 thousand workers.
According to the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno said the CEZ Lido would absorb 21,154 jobs. In addition, there will be an additional 84 thousand jobs for support workers outside the CEZ Lido area. The size of the workforce that can be absorbed by the existence of this CEZ Lido is expected to generate tourism and the creative economy in West Java.
“We hope that this special economy zone (SEZ) can drive the economy, but driving the economy is inclusive for the surrounding community, especially their young people. I am sure that the CEZ Lido buffer areas such as Bogor and Sukabumi also have great tourism potential that can be optimized, such as the existence of tourist villages,” he said.
He added that we have many potential tourism villages around Sukabumi and Bogor Regency. one of which we will visit Batulayang Village, is our hope that this will become a hub for the development of tourist villages. With these tourism potentials, I hope that creative Micro small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) players and local cultural arts workers can develop so that the economic wheels in the region will move.
“We hope to drive the economy and we hope that creative MSMEs and local cultural arts workers can also develop, of course with sustainable local wisdom, and also our hope that Indonesia will soon rise from the pandemic,” Sandiaga noted.
Meanwhile, the Executive Chairman of MNC Group Hary Tanoesoedibjo said that the presence of CEZ Lido will have a very good impact on the people of Bogor and Sukabumi because the location will be visited by very large numbers of people.
“I also hope that in the future the CEZ Lido can continue to be developed to the coastal area of the Sukabumi sea. If it can be developed starting from the mountains, Lido, then there are toll roads, there are tourist areas, until the sea can become the largest and best tourist area in the world, in the middle it can be used for industrial areas. So that the industry around here can develop. This is just wishful thinking,” Hary affirmed.
CEZ MNC Lido City is a 3,000 ha development project which is projected as a “world-class entertainment hospitality city” in Jabodetabek. CEZ Lido will be filled with various tourist destinations, ranging from Lido Music & Arts Center and Movieland, Lido World Garden, Lido Lake Hotel Extension, Golf & Country Club, and MNC Park Lido.
The existence of CEZ Lido will contribute to accelerating the achievement of the targets of the central and regional governments, through increasing the number of tourists, developing MSMEs and the creative economy, and absorbing labor. [antaranews/photo special]
