THE government supports private airlines to take an active role in arousing national tourism with various promotions that are currently being hit by the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno said tourism is one of the sectors that is currently being hit and the government has tried to take steps such as vaccinating tourism entrepreneurs. We certainly welcome the support from airlines.
“This was conveyed by Sandiaga Uno in response to AirAsia’s collaboration with the Indonesian Hotel and Restaurant Association (PHRI) through the promotion of hotel and flight packages to encourage tourist visits to priority destinations as a form of support for economic recovery in the country,” he said.
Sandiaga explained that the various breakthroughs made by private airlines would certainly encourage the recovery of the national tourism industry, of course by continuing to carry out health protocols.
“I hope that the various types of promotions will continue and be developed to various other destinations, such as the five super priority destinations, namely Lake Toba (North Sumatra), Borobudur (Central Java), Labuan Bajo (NTT), Mandalika (NTB), and Likupang (North Sulawesi).,” he stated.
Meanwhile, General Chairman of PHRI Hariyadi BS Sukamdani said that PHRI opened opportunities for cooperation with stakeholders as a real effort to restore national tourism.
“If the stakeholders collaborate with each other, the recovery process for the Indonesian tourism industry will be faster,” Hariyadi noted.
Likewise, AirAsia Indonesia President Director Veranita Yosephine Sinaga said the special collaboration price promotion between AirAsia and PHRI is a form of commitment to support tourism recovery.
