Capella Ubud, Ultra-Luxurious Camp Now Is Ready to Serves

CAPELLA Ubud, Bali is an exclusive ultra-luxurious tented camp that brings together the most luxurious accommodation with a total jungle immersion experience that is set to redefine adventure travel.

The four-hectare camp site is nestled between the rainforest and surrounding rice terraces along the sacred Wos River, where the local villagers of Keliki regularly gather for festive processions. In this picturesque location lies Capella Ubud, Bali, a unique collection of 22 one-bedroom retreats and a two-bedroom lodge.

Inspired by the first European explorers to settle in Bali in the early 1800s, celebrated architect and designer Bill Bensley created this stunning rainforest retreat as a tribute to their spirit of adventure, bringing the myths and legends of Bali’s exotic past to life.

The retreat interiors are uniquely themed around camp life back in the days of the early settlers, using their individual skill sets as Captains, Naturalists, Cartographers, Photographers and Architects as a background design – a charming insight into the traditional way of life in the Bali of yesteryear.

Each of the tented retreats feature a private salt water pool and large outdoor decks – the perfect spot to admire the dense rainforest landscape and tune into the sights and sounds of nature and the Wos river running below.  The orientation of the retreats and the lodge optimizes the views of the jungle, river and rice terrace settings, encouraging natural light and the flow of cooling fresh air circulation. This one of kind hidden sanctuary offers guests a truly unique under-canvas experience carefully balanced with today’s modern conveniences and technology.

As a nostalgic reminder of old camp life, Mads Lange, the main dining room, is named after the Danish spice trader, also known as the legendary “White King of Bali back in the 1800s.  Inspired by its jungle setting overlooking The Cistern rainforest pool, Mads Lange is set over three levels of dining spaces and specialises in seasonal and sustainable farmed produce.

A second signature restaurant, Api Jiwa – meaning ‘fire to the soul’ in ancient Sanskrit – is an interactive Asian street food barbecue that brings a theatrical farm-to-table flavour to camp dining.

For a unique experience, take a seat around the Camp Fire with local story tellers and historians as they recall tales of old over hot chocolate and toasted marshmallows, or watch a black and white movie about the Bali of long ago and just enjoy a camp fire supper under the stars.  This is what memories of adventures are made of.

The Mortar and Pestle bar adjacent to The Cistern offers light poolside snacks and health-conscious options inclusive of a wide range of cocktails and potions.  All beverages are conceptualized with local influences and handcrafted using traditional methods inclusive of a mortar and pestle as well as a manual ice crusher in order not to interrupt mother nature’s beautiful rainforest sounds and delights.

The Officer’s Tent, reminiscent of an officer’s mess, is the camp’s living room and library exclusively reserved for camp residents.  Serving morning coffee, afternoon tea, cocktails, canapés and after dinner drinks, the Officer’s Tent is also a favourite spot for a game of chess or a good read.

Capella Ubud, Bali’s team of well-trained, multi-lingual Personal Assistants are on hand around the clock.  They are a key component in providing bespoke experiences for guests throughout their stay.  Engaging with guests from pre-arrival, while in-residence and after departure, the Capella Personal Assistants ensure that everything is arranged according to the guest’s exact preferences for a truly memorable and enriching experience. [traveltextonline.com]
