THE Wonderful Indonesia branding logo is being displayed on double decker buses in Sydney, Australia, specifically those operating in the route to and from the City-Mona Vale.
According to Executive Deputy of Marketing Development I from the Ministry of Tourism, Ni Wayan Giri Adnyani, said that she took advantage of the open advertising space on the double decker buses in Sydney to display the Wonderful Indonesia media branding logo.
“This is not the first time that we have done this. Previously, the Wonderful Indonesia stickers were applied in London, United Kingdom, and we received positive responses, which is why we decided to continue the campaign in Sydney,” she stated.
The logo is being installed on a number of public transportation buses in the City-Mona Vale route in Sydney and will later be fitted with pictures of popular destinations in the country.
This method, she noted, was effective because the passengers would see the promotion directly.
In addition to the double decker bus, Wonderful Indonesia also appeared on the digital billboard entrance of Sydney Domestic Airport, with Borobudur Temple and the Pink Beach as the featured destinations.
“This method is expected to further attract the people of Sydney and get them interested in seeing Indonesia`s natural beauty. The airport has also become a strategic place for tourism promotion,” she remarked.
Meanwhile, Minister of Tourism Arief Yahya explained that overseas promotion is an important aspect that must be improved. This is in line with the target to attract as many as 17 million foreign tourist visits in 2018, which is why Indonesian tourism must be introduced with attractive promotional material and maximum display.
Thus far, he added, Britain and Australia are the two countries with great potentials in terms of tourist visits. Especially in the European Union, the number of tourists visiting Indonesia from the region in 2017 reached more than one million people.
“Britain is listed as the biggest tourist contributor with almost 400 thousand foreign tourists. Therefore, we must work to promote Indonesia more aggressively on the UK market as well as Australia through various tourism promotions,” he pointed out. [antaranews/photo special]
