“This exhibition is open to the public so that people do not look down on people with special needs, we also emphasize that there should be no discrimination between people who live normally and those with special needs. People with special needs also have the right to live and have human dignity,” he continued.
In the exhibition of paintings titled ‘eARThy’ Christmas, he continued in general aiming to give an appreciation of the talent possessed by students with special needs from 3 schools joined. They know that each of their students is unique, so the paintings on display also have diversity according to their character.
He also mentioned that this exhibition divides the variety and flow of paintings into two based on the characteristics possessed by their students, namely those who have communication skills and whose communication abilities are limited. Children with limited communication skills have different paintings. They are free to express their work to express their feelings and enthusiasm. Therefore, the flow of their paintings tends to be expressionist, abstract and impressionist whose objects are less clear in form.
“This is not the first time they have held an exhibition, they have held it annually in Jakarta, Bali and their works have been exhibited in various hotels in Jakarta and Bali. Paintings from the exhibitors were collected by many domestic and foreign art connoisseurs, including Britain, the Netherlands, Australia, Singapore, Malaysia. Not only that, there are also those who managed to carve achievements in the international arena through their paintings such as; Diego Luister Berel, Jane Gabriella, Fero AdhiMada, Seto Swastiko, Mahadana Trayusa,” said Edhie Rianto.
He added, they paint not only to carve colors on a canvas, but have meaning, as expressions of expression when angry, happy, homesick, jealous even some children are able to record past and future events. [traveltext.id]
