NETFLIX Indonesia recognizes that Indonesia has a large market for the video streaming on demand segment.
According to Netflix Indonesia’s spokesperson, Adwina Hargini said that Netflix is currently present in 190 countries and has 158 million users worldwide. Whereas in Indonesia, we just launched a Mobile Package of IDR49,000 per month last December. So, users in Indonesia can get access to streaming and download all quality films and series in the Netflix catalog via mobile phones or tablets.
Research data from Statista (2019), Netflix users in Indonesia are estimated to surge 88% in 2020 by 906,810 users from 481,450 users in 2019. In the third quarter of 2019, Netflix’s central net profit grew more than 60% from US$402 million to US$665 million.
Facing polemics surrounding regulations and content that are considered to violate social norms, Netflix Indonesia guarantees the security of content display can be guaranteed through parental control features.
“Netflix Indonesia will continue to be committed to providing quality entertainment and supporting the development of the Indonesian film industry. We allow consumers to choose to become a member and decide what they want to watch, where and when. Our services include rating guides and episode synopsis to help our members make choices based on information about what is right for them and their families,” Adwina Hargini explained.
