MINISTER of State-Owned Enterprises, Erick Thohir urged elements of art, culture and tourism at the airport to support tourism.
“In order for the airport to support tourism there must be elements of art, culture & tourism. The concept of art, culture and tourism is also integrated with digital-based services that are now available at Soekarno-Hatta Airport,” he said.
He added, the purpose of developing the concept of art, culture, and tourism, was so that the Soekarno-Hatta Airport could become one of the memorable destinations for foreign tourists.
“Soekarno-Hatta International Airport is the Main Gateway of Indonesia and must be a memorable destination for foreign and domestic tourists. One effort is to synergize aspects of art, culture and tourism, which are also integrated with digitalization,” said Erick Thohir.
Soekarno-Hatta International Airport is one of the Main Gates of Indonesia in welcoming foreign tourists. In 2019, the number of foreign tourists entering through Soekarno-Hatta is 3.52 million tourists and is predicted to increase by around 13.6 percent this year to 4 million tourists.
“But not only that, Soekarno-Hatta Airport is also positioned as a tourist destination and cultural arts by synergizing aspects of art, culture and tourism as a concept of developing airport services and facilities,” he said. [antaranews]
