A NUMBER of countries take steps to anticipate the spread of the corona virus. One of them, by banning flights to the city. Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi could not confirm when the flight ban to and from Wuhan, China would be lifted.

According to him, the national airline could only serve flights to Wuhan after conditions in the Bamboo Curtain country had improved. I have not been able to convey. There is still crucial and still close. It might take up to three weeks or a month to see what happens in Wuhan.

Budi also opened up opportunities, a ban on flying for national airlines could also be applied to other cities in China. However, this depends on the conditions of the spread of the virus.

“Regarding other cities in China, we will discuss with the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of developments there,” Budi said.

Budi ensured that there were currently no national airlines serving flights to and from Wuhan. Before the ban, two national airlines serving the Wuhan route were Lion Air and Sriwijaya Air.

“If in Wuhan it is clear there are no flights to and from Wuhan. So yesterday Lion had time to return the passengers, but there it was already closed. So the return flights are empty, clear there are no more flights to Wuhan from anywhere in Indonesia,” he concluded. [antaranews/photo special]
