MINISTER of Tourism and Creative Economy, Wishnutama Kusubandio said, the Tourism Ministry in collaboration with the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing this year will build three creative hubs.
“The three creative hubs are planned to be in Labuan Bajo and Lake Toba. And one more God willing, there is in Jogja or Semarang. We will decide in the near future,” Wishnutama said.
He said, the creative hub was a kind of building that could later be used as a workshop and exhibition place. Not only that, this place will also develop the creative economy (ecraf) such as crafts, culinary, photography, and others.
Wishnutama hopes that the surrounding community, especially young people, can further develop the local economic potential due to the large number of tourists who will come.
He stated, if in those three places proved successful in activating the local creative economy, the possibility of a creative hub would be built in other tourist areas. [photo traveltext]
