A NUMBER of new hotel booking applications in India bluntly allow unmarried couples to book hotel rooms, just to stay overnight or spend the night together. The offerings of hoteliers seem to go against traditional norms in countries where premarital sex is taboo.
StayUncle for example, even offers shorter time rentals from 13:00 to 18:00 and 18:00 to 21:00 at a lower rate than the usual time.
“Couples need room, not judgment,” the tagline said on the front page of the StayUncle page.
This startup also opened job vacancies for those who were interested in joining. On their team list page, StayUncle also wrote “Why work at StayUncle? Because Indians need more sex. And we want to make it easy for them.”
“Because we want to help create the next 1 billion Indian babies,” read the next line.
StayUncle has so far had hotel chains in many cities in India besides Mumbai, such as Delhi, Bangalore, Kolkata, Jaipur and many more.
Some special facilities offered include bathtub hotels, packages with love trinkets, and even LGBTQ hotels. Not only StayUncle, some who offer hotel rooms for unmarried couples include BreviStay and Oyo. [antaranews]
