GARUDA Indonesia sells promotional fares not only for domestic routes but also for international routes of up to 30% and 70%, respectively.
According to Garuda Indonesia Managing Director Irfan Setiaputra said the economical promo tariff is a strategic option in maintaining market demand given the slowdown in the aviation business during the low season and the Corona virus outbreak.
“Airlines with this type of full service are also evaluating new routes. The ticket purchase period is valid until February 20, 2020. Part of the anticipation of [corona virus] is also our response to market demand,” he explained.
Irfan explained the trip period will take place for domestic routes starting from February 14- to December 31, 2020 while international routes starting from February 14-December 17, 2020.
“However, the discounted rate only applies to purchases on the Garuda Indonesia website, the GIA Mobile application, Contact Center, all Garuda Indonesia sales offices, and certain travel agents. The following domestic routes (one way): (1). Jakarta-Denpasar starting from IDR1 million, (2). Jakarta-Yogyakarta starts from IDR700 thousand, (3). Jakarta-Medan starting from IDR1, 3 million, (4). Jakarta-Makassar starts from IDR1, 3 million, (5). Jakarta-Labuan Bajo starts from IDR1, 4 million,” he said.
Irfan Setiaputra added, while for international routes (round trip): (1). Jakarta-Singapore starts from IDR2.8 million, (2). Jakarta-Tokyo starting from IDR5.4 million, (3). Jakarta-Amsterdam starting from IDR11,5 million, (4). Denpasar-Sydney starts from IDR6.1 million, (5). Jakarta-Incheon starts from IDR5.5 million.
Previously, Garuda Indonesia suggested more incentives that were new inbound in the face of current flight conditions affected by the corona virus.
Irfan said the initiative was related to Garuda Indonesia’s efforts to enter new routes, increase flight schedules, and create promotions. [antaranews/photo special]
