PRESIDENT Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has reduced the budget of a number of ministries and institutions for the handling of the COVID-19 pandemic including the KPK, Police, Attorney General’s Office, to the Supreme Court.
In the Republic of Indonesia’s Presidential Regulation No. 54 of 2020 concerning Changes in Posture and Details of the TA 2020 State Revenue and Expenditure article 1 paragraph 1 states: “To implement the policies and steps needed in the context of handling the 2019 Corona Virus Disease pandemic (COVID-19) and or face threats that endanger the national economy and/or financial system stability, changes will be made to the Posture and Details of the State Budget for Fiscal Year 2020. “
Presidential decree No. 54/2020 accessed in Jakarta on Sunday, Article 1 paragraph 3 and paragraph 4 states that the state revenue budget is estimated at IDR1,760 trillion while the state budget is estimated at IDR2,613 trillion.
Article 2 paragraph (1) states that the Central Government Expenditure Budget is prioritized for the purpose of handling the COVID-19 pandemic and or facing threats that endanger the national economy and / or financial system stability with a focus on spending: a. health; b. social safety net and c. economic recovery.
