AIRASIA OPERATES A LIMITED DOMESTIC ROUTE FLIGHTS NEXT MONTH

AIRASIA Group is ready to resume regular flights on domestic routes in Indonesia from 7 May 2020, subject to government approval.

According to President of the AirAsia Group, Bo Lingam in his press release said AirAsia was also ready to operate domestic routes in Malaysia (from 29 April 2020), Thailand (from 1 May 2020), the Philippines (from 1 May 2020) and India (4 May 2020) if permission from the local authority has been bagged.

“At the initial stage of this re-operation, flights will be available on a limited basis on certain domestic routes. The route will be added gradually, including international routes when the situation has improved and travel and territory restrictions have been lifted,” said Bo Lingam.

“We are pleased to be able to fly back to serve our customers, and hope to be able to operate fully as soon as possible. We have made adjustments to passenger handling procedures on land and in the air with caution for Covid-19,” he said.

He added, we are also working with the airport authorities to jointly ensure that preventive measures have been implemented to ensure safe and comfortable travel for all.

He said AirAsia was actively working with regulators, local governments, civil and health aviation authorities, and complied with guidelines from the World Health Organization (WHO) and the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) to ensure compliance with compliance and suitability standards for each flight. Flights are available and can be ordered through the official website and AirAsia application. [photo special]
