TOURISM & CREATIVE ECONOMY MINISTRY ENSURES BUDGET REALLOCATION IS ON TARGET

MINISTRY of Tourism & Creative Economy ensures budget reallocation in the tourism sector and creative economy is on target in an effort to mitigate the impact of COVID-19 on tourism and creative economy players.

According to the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy/Head of Tourism and Creative Economy Agency Wishnutama Kusubandio in his statement in Jakarta on Tuesday (28/4), said the program run by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy in the emergency response situation of COVID-19 was based on the needs of workers and employers in the tourism sector and creative economy.

“The Ministry of Tourism has mapped out the problem before reallocating the budget and rolling out a program to reduce the impact of COVID-19 on the tourism sector and the creative economy in accordance with the existing authority in the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy Agency,” he said.

Wishnutama added, the Ministry of Tourism mapped the obstacles faced by the perpetrators of tourism and creative economy in the field and then implemented safety net programs for the tourism sector and the creative economy.

In the facilitation program for health workers with hotels, he continued transportation and so on for example. Through the program not only facilitated health workers, but also helped workers as well as hotel and transportation entrepreneurs.

“This cooperation is also a form of the Ministry of Tourism’s support for the tourism industry, namely the hotel and transportation business so that they can continue to employ their employees with the program,” Wishnutama said.

At this stage the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy Agency has facilitated 2,059 health workers for transportation and accommodation in collaboration with dozens of hotels.

The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy Agency have previously collected data on tourism workers and creative economy that are affected and are continually updated. The data is then processed and programs designed to focus primarily on helping workers and entrepreneurs in the tourism sector and the creative economy.

Then, the program and campaign #GerakanMaskerKain and #MakanLaukSiapSaji were rolled out. The main goal is to revive the creative economy sector while helping human values.

“Because in the end the results of healthy masks and ready-made side dishes in the program run by Tourism Ministry will be donated to affected tourism and creative economy workers. Likewise in the #SatuDalamKopi movement,” Wishnutama noted.

The Tourism & Creative Economy has also consistently rolled out programs in the #JagaKreativity umbrella that provides online training for upskilling and reskilling tourism and creative economy practitioners.

“Programs that help workers and entrepreneurs in the tourism sector and the creative economy will continue to be carried out, including giving proposals to other ministries/institutions in protecting the tourism sector and the creative economy,” Wishnutama concluded. [traveltext.id]
