CHINA reportedly immediately reopened a part of the Forbidden City tour for tourists starting May 1, 2020 local time, according to a notice on its official website recently.
But for those who want to visit the place need to make an online reservation first, and the number of daily visitors is limited to only 5,000 tourists.
Tourists must also carry an identity card and a personal “health code”, which can be applied through a local health application, before entering the Forbidden City tourist complex.
Those found to have a body temperature of more than 37.3 degrees Celsius or show symptoms of coughing and shortness of breath will be refused entry.
Furthermore, tourists are also required to wear masks during their visit and keep their distance from others. The existing exhibition space and indoor service will remain closed temporarily.
On Thursday, all tickets have been sold out for the Labor Day holiday which falls on May 1, 2020. Previously the favorite tourist sites of local and foreign tourists stopped receiving visitors from January 25, 2020 as an effort by the local government to curb the spread of the new corona virus.
Other museums in Beijing will also gradually reopen starting May 1, including the Chinese National Museum and the Capital Museum, which are usually crowded during the May Day holidays. [antaranews/photo special]
